How Vermont Farmers prepare for having a baby:
1: Wash carrots for CSA, 12 hours before birth.
2: Make Poppy Streudel 10 hours before birth.
3: Have a healthy baby girl at 4am on your Birthday!

Congratulations on your baby girl! Happy Birthday, too! Take it easy for a few days. I clearly remember doing absolutely NOTHING for a few days before I gave birth and only baby-related things for a couple of days after I had each of my girls.

I was teaching less than 3 hours before I gave birth to my 2nd baby - had no idea I was in labor!
I have a sweater over here in France that was knit in the early 1950's by Christa's great Aunt Hazel.
